Mauracio Bonacini, MD

Dr. Bonacini studied medicine both in Europe, where he was awarded his MD magna cum laude, and in the United States, where he did his post graduate work in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He has taught medicine at several universities in the United States, including: University of Missouri, University of California, and University of Southern California.

He is a member of many prestigious organizations furthering research into liver disease, and has participated in a number of committees, including the HALT-C Trial Outcomes Committee.

Dr. Bonaciniís dedication to research is reflected in the enormous amount of research he has published in journals, such as J Clin Gastroenterol, Am J Gastroenterol, Arch Intern Med, J Viral Hepatitis, Digestive Liver Disease, Gastroenterology, and Hepatology, to name just a few. He has also written several chapters in medical textbooks on such topics as liver biopsy, hepatotoxicity of antiviral medications, and the liver in systemic diseases.

Dr. Bonacini currently resides in San Francisco, CA with his wife and two children.
